Ron Stein's success in the independent film world has yielded critical acclaim and box office clout. In 2010 alone, Ron released box office champ and indie darling; The Kids Are All Right, star-studded; The Romantics, indie crime-thriller; Meskada and wrapped production on New York City drama; Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You based on the best-selling novel of the same name.

FOAK maintains a diverse and eclectic roster of projects for 2011 including: cyber thriller SarahN_12; human trafficking action film Alphanumeric; original sci-fi transmedia title Kantaros; and musical action/comedy Vampire Summer Camp.

Ron is the founding partner in newly formed distribution company Red Flag Releasing with former Warner Independent execs Paul Federbush and Laura Kim. He also serves on the board of directors of Cinetic Rights Management (FilmBuff).

Before film, Ron Stein spent 20+ years as an innovative leader in the financial services and consulting industries. As an entrepreneur, Ron is responsible for founding several IT product and professional services companies and managing them through successful exits. Previously, he served as Global Head of Equity Technology at Deutsche Bank and as a Partner at Accenture. Ron received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Economics from the University of Delaware and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. His first venture in film was the short, THE ELEPHANT GARDEN written and directed by Sasie Sealy, which won the Student Visionary Award at 2008 Tribeca Film Festival and a National Board of Review prize. Now focused on film making, Ron serves the industry in a number of capacities including advisory, production, post-production, investment, talent procurement, and distribution while maintaining a strong network of contacts in both worlds.
